Tips for presentating your projects

Here are some useful tips you can use for your presentation:

1. Write down your speech, but try not to read from it.

2. Read it out loud, practice punctuation, check the volume of your voice, check for grammatical and spelling mistakes.

3. Highlight relevant aspects. Practice and check for difficult words.

4. Practice it in front of a mirror and practice your posture as well as gestures.

5. You may use a recorder or your cell phone and then play it back to find out which parts sound weak.

6. When you speak -try to speak with passion and enthusiasm.

7. Control the volume of your voice. Use pauses and emphasize when necessary.

Don't leave your presentation to the last minute

Don't leave it to the very last minute to work on your presentation. When you know you have to give a presentation - make sure that you leave yourself real time to present - and this is more than half a day the night before. You will be standing up in front of a lot of people - you want to to go well. Plan at least 8 hours over the week before.

Prepare the room and material in advance

a) Make sure that you have spent time in the presentation room before your presentation. get to know the room and run through your slides beforehand to ensure that everything is working smoothly.

b)Always leave handouts.

c) You have gone to a lot of effort to produce your presentation. Leaving handouts will reinforce your messages, and will help them to remember your presentation when they look at them again. Always include your contact details so that the audience can contact you.

d)Memorize your speech.

e)Do not read from your notes, unless you have frozen or not prepared. It will sound flat and stilted. If you have learnt your speech it will sound natural and you will even have the chance to ad lib, if the opportunity arises.

f)If you fail to prepare, you prepare to fail.
g) Remember that your projects are part of a great effort, so whatever you
prepare in advance is your support in presenting.

h)The success depends on you, and the proffessional development gained through experience will give you elements for your future career.
